Vehicle collides with mailboxes and fence

Jul 14, 2026 | 5:01 PM

Canada Post said 39 customers in Prince Albert’s Midtown neighbourhood have been impacted by a recent incident in which a vehicle plowed into a set of community mailboxes and a fence.

For the time being, customers have been asked to pick up their mail at the delivery facility located at 9 Marquis Road W.

The incident over the weekend occurred on Fifth Avenue East between Eighth and Ninth streets. A set of northbound tire marks was clearly visible in the grass leading up to the fence of the home situated behind the mailboxes.

While there has been no official statement from the Prince Albert Police Service, Canada Post confirmed an investigation is underway and that its contractor has collected the damaged mailboxes.

“Once we retrieve the mail from the struck mailboxes, it will also be available for pickup. We ask that residents bring valid government ID to pick up their mail, which is available Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.,” Canada Post said.

If a person is unable to get up to the Marquis post office, they can request to have their mail delivered once a week on Wednesdays.

Canada Post thanked residents for their collaboration. Customers with questions about their postal services can contact Canada Post’s customer service team online at canadapost.ca/support or by telephone at 1-866-607-6301 (TTY: 1-800-267-2797).
