WATCH: Family members of Prince Albert murder victim renew call for answers

Jul 14, 2026 | 9:25 AM

Frances Merasty says she will not stop until she finds out who killed her son.

Monday evening, Merasty and over a dozen supporters participated in the eighth annual Jordan Ballantyne walk. Donning orange shirts and holding signs that said “Justice for Jordan”, the group proceeded from Prince Albert’s Kinsmen Park to a property on 20th St.E. where eight years ago Ballantyne’s lifeless body was found.

“It’s getting so hard each year,” Merasty told paNOW.

Prince Albert’s Ann Merasty is Ballantyne’s cousin and has also been a part of the walk since day one.

“And with each year passing, I think our steps and our hearts get heavier because each year we lose a family member,” she commented, adding each year, they also have different people joining the walk.

“The people honking, and the people messaging, we’re very grateful for it.”

The Prince Albert Police Service continues to investigate the homicide of Jordan Ballantyne.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police. Anonymous tips can be provided to Crime Stoppers.
