In Loving Memory of Tom Lehner
December 4, 1946 – July 5, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Tom Lehner, who passed away peacefully, with his family at his side, on July 5, 2026, at the age of 79.
Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Jeanette (Plaschewsky) Lehner, whose love and partnership were the foundation of a life well lived. He also leaves behind his sons, Dean (Gaby) Lehner of Houston, Texas, and their children, Brayden and Arianna; and Brad (Carey) Lehner of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, and their children, Karlee and Chase. Tom was predeceased by his cherished son, Wade Lehner of Prince Albert, a loss he carried with him every day.
Tom was a hardworking entrepreneur whose determination and vision helped shape his life’s work. He began his trucking career in the 1960s, eventually founding Tom Lehner Trucking, where he built a reputation for honesty, reliability, and hard work. Never one to shy away from a challenge, Tom saw an opportunity in the forestry industry and, in 1975, founded Big Dome Wood Suppliers. Through his leadership and unwavering commitment, the company grew into a trusted supplier of fence post and lumber, serving customers and delivering products across Canada. His entrepreneurial spirit and work ethic inspired everyone who had the privilege of working alongside him.
While Tom took great pride in his businesses, his greatest joy was always his family. Since 1992, Tom and Jeanette spent their winters in the southern United States, creating a home away from home where family and friends gathered year after year. Those winters became a cherished tradition filled with laughter, stories, sunshine, and countless memories that will be treasured forever.
Tom also had a lifelong passion for antique automobiles. From an early age, he enjoyed restoring and collecting classic vehicles, taking pride in bringing pieces of history back to life. Over the years, he built an impressive collection, and every vehicle reflected his appreciation for craftsmanship, patience, and attention to detail.
Above all else, Tom was a proud and devoted grandfather. Nothing brought him greater happiness than watching his grandchildren pursue their passions. Whether it was hockey, soccer, softball, or lacrosse, he could often be found cheering enthusiastically from the stands, celebrating every goal, hit, save, or milestone with unmistakable pride. His encouragement, support, and quiet presence will remain with them always.
Tom will be remembered as a man of integrity, determination, generosity, and deep devotion to those he loved. He built businesses through hard work, friendships through kindness, and a family legacy that will continue for generations. His wisdom, sense of humor, and unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has offered their love, prayers, and support during this difficult time. Though Tom’s journey has come to an end, the values he instilled and the memories he created will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
“A life measured not only by what was built, but by the love that was shared and the family that carries his legacy forward.”
