SaskPower smart meters coming to Prince Albert area starting next month
SaskPower crews will start installing smart meters in the Prince Albert area in the last week of August, with the local deployment expected to continue until late November.
Joel Cherry, a spokesperson for SaskPower, said customers do not need to book an appointment or be home when the work is done.
“Because it’s being done at every property, it’s not on an appointment basis,” Cherry said.
The installation itself is expected to take about 15 to 20 minutes. Cherry said an installer will knock on the door when they arrive, do a visual check of the existing meter, remove it, inspect the socket, install the new smart meter and verify it is working.
