Less than two months after being released from jail, a man was arrested at a community powwow and charged with selling drugs to a 13-year-old girl.

Those details were shared Thursday morning during Chandler Mooswa’s bail hearing in Prince Albert Provincial Court.

The alleged incident occurred on June 20 at Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation.

According to details read by Crown prosecutor Doug Howell, a 13-year-old girl told security officers she had been approached by a man and offered meth.

When he was found, the man told the officers he was intoxicated and proudly stated he was a member of a street gang. A white bandana was displayed hanging out of his pants pocket.

RCMP were called to the scene and, when searching the man, found a sandwich bag half full of meth. There were also nine smaller bags of meth in the bandana.

He was also carrying a pocket knife and was in possession of $80 cash.

Crown prosecutor Margaret Sproule said the total amount of drugs found was 92 grams, with an estimated street value of about $4,000.

Sproule also noted Mooswa has a lengthy criminal record that includes 16 prior convictions for breaches, five break and enters, and a robbery for which he received a four-year sentence before being released in April.

Mooswa is from Moosomin First Nation.

A decision on bail was adjourned to July 13.
