The WHL has released it’s full schedule for preseason games that all starts off on August 30.

For the Prince Albert Raiders, they have a total five preseason games again this year, three of which are against the Saskatoon Blades. Continuing the tradition that’s been going since the 2012 preseason, the Raiders and Blades will meet for a neutral site game in Warman.

The full dates for the preseason are as follows:

  • Tuesday, Sep. 1: @ Saskatoon 2:00 p.m. (SaskTel Centre, rookie showcase game)
  • Friday, Sep. 4: vs. Moose Jaw 7:00 p.m. (Art Hauser Centre
  • Saturday, Sep. 5: @ Saskatoon 7:00 p.m. (Warman Home Centre Communiplex)
  • Thursday, Sep. 10: vs. Saskatoon 7:00 p.m. (Art Hauser Centre)
  • Friday, Sep. 11: @ Regina 7:00 p.m. (Brandt Centre)

Other events that usually go during the preseason have been scheduled as well. The annual Raiders Golf tournament is scheduled with the dinner/gala on August 26, and the tournament itself being played on the next day August 27.

The very next day, training camp kicks off on Friday, August 28 with registration and playing through the rest of the weekend.

The third annual Raiders slo-pitch game will take place again this year, but it does not have a day scheduled yet. Also in its third year is the annual Raiders Run, but that has been moved to October 17 as part of the new Prince Albert Running Festival.

The Raiders have also announced their home opener on Friday, Sep. 18 where they will open the WHL season with a banner raising ceremony before taking on the Regina Pats.

Also of note during the WHL preseason, there will be two inter-league preseason games between the WHL’s Victoria Royals and the OHL’s London Knights. The Royals will be hosting both games on Sep. 4 and 5 in Victoria.
