Delmar Cody
1932 ~ 2026
It is with great sorrow and sadness that we announce the passing of our brother, uncle, partner and friend, Delmar Cody. He passed away peacefully on June 19, 2026, at Victoria Hospital, in Prince Albert, SK, with family by his side.
Del lived a life of deep faith and hard work. His love of the outdoors was known by everyone. He could be found hunting, fishing or just enjoying nature. His bird and animal calls were legendary, especially crows and moose. He also enjoyed his time with friends where everyone would hear “give it another five” as he never wanted the good time to end.
At a young age he started working for the Department of Highways, then moved on to be a Funeral Director at Speers Funeral Home, in Regina, SK, later he decided to become an entrepreneur and opened a general store in St. Louis, Saskatchewan. After that, he became a buyer for the Department of Northern Services. After an extensive and varied work career he retired to his acreage at Spruce Home. Later in life he moved to Prince Albert where he resided until his death.
He leaves to mourn, his brother, Don (Joan) Cody; his sisters, Myrt (Loran) Paydli and Elaine (Dennis) Hebig; his special friend, Bev; and stepson Billy. Also mourning his passing are his six nieces and nephews, Maureen (Dave), Gail (Les), Scott (Traci), Garnet (Terry), Kim (Devin) and Shane (Alexandria); and many cherished friends whose lives he touched.
He was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Rosella Cody; his brothers, Kenneth and Joseph in infancy; his sister, Vivian (Barry); his nephew, Glen Paydli; and Billy’s mother, June.
The family would like to thank Dr. S. Veith and the nurses at Victoria Hospital for their exceptional care.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Prince Albert Wildlife Federation.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, June 26, 2026, at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 1401 4th Ave West, in Prince Albert, SK, with Father Travis Myrheim officiating. The family invite you for lunch and fellowship at River Park Funeral Home after the service. Interment will follow.
