Also charged in the case is Rylan Hansen, whose matters are still at the pre-trial stage. The next scheduled hearing is Aug. 7.

Neighbours who spoke to paNOW said the home on Kemp Crescent had been a source of continuous problems and had been visited by police in the past.

In addition to the first-degree murder charge, Gardiner also has an outstanding manslaughter charge that relates to the death of Travis Caisse in August, 2024.

A preliminary inquiry hearing has been scheduled for July 21.

Caisse’s death occurred almost five weeks after Norman Wenzel’s murder.
