Henri Mourot

It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Henri Mourot on June 8, 2026, at the age of 86 on the Mourot homestead.
Henri was born on April 9, 1940, to Alphonse and Celina Mourot. He was only one of two Mourot children that were born in a hospital. Being the baby of a family of nine he was bound to be spoiled and was known to have small fits and outbursts if things did not go his way.
Henri attended Hanna school, walking uphill both ways, and had many stories to share. He denies to this day that he broke his arm high jumping with one arm behind his back to impress a girl.
In truth, the apple of his eye was always right under his nose, and she was the only person who could match his rough and tough ways. Henri and Linda were married on April 18, 1970, and spent 56 loving years together. This city girl learned quickly how to run a mixed farm. Together they had three children and built a lifetime of memories.
Henri was always hard working and tried making his fortune in Blairmore AB, Sudbury ON, and considered purchasing land in St. Paul AB. However, the farm kept calling him home and along with that he worked for the RM of Buckland for 40 years as a heavy equipment operator and as foreman. During this time, he met a lifetime of friends whom he considered as family and always considered Armand Gobeil his adoptive father.
Henri was a proud man and taught his family the importance of a strong work ethic. He was always willing to lend a helping hand when he wasn’t busy taking care of his yard. It was important for him to have a well-kept lawn and trimmed trees. He became a superior yard’s keeper getting ready for many gatherings with friends and family. However, his greatest pride and joy were his grandchildren. He always found time to attend their sporting events and music festivals and was often heard saying that his buttons were popping off his shirt.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Linda (Kennedy); his children, Wade (Charlotte) and Tracy (Keith) Basler; his grandchildren, Brianne (Tyler), Caleb, Lisette and Mannix; his brothers, Alex and Louis; his sister, Henriette (Lionel) Ricard; his brothers-in-law, Brent (Melody) Kennedy and Barry (Sandie) Kennedy; his sisters-in-law, Inez, Lynne, Esther Kennedy-Mattson and Rachelle (John) Schloegel and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Alphonse and Celina (Caron); his daughter, Tammy; his brothers, Frank, Xavier (Pete), Charlie, Marcel; his sister, Margeurite; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edgar and Laura (Caron) Kennedy; his brothers-in-law, Ivan Kennedy, Earl Kennedy, Gary Delorme; his sisters-in-law, Jennie, Barb, Doris, Gail Delorme, Dixie Kennedy.
