The former first overall pick to the Raiders in 2023 went on to thank the team staff, his billets, and his teammates, calling them his “brothers” and his “forever best friends”. He also gave a nod to the Raider faithful for their support before exclaiming his excitement for his next chapter.

Rudolph, 18, joins a storied Denver Pioneers team that has seen wild success over its 78-year history and within the last five years alone. Since 2021, their accolades have included five straight NCAA tournament appearances, four Frozen Four appearances (2022, 2024, 2025, 2026), and three National Championships (2022, 2024, 2026).  

It was only speculation that he was joining the team until Thursday morning, when he confirmed the news himself in a second post to his Instagram. 

“I am very excited to announce my commitment to play Division 1 hockey at Denver University. I would like to thank my family for the constant support throughout my hockey journey. As well as my coaches, teammates, and friends for helping me as well! #gopios.” 

Another Raider from this past season will also be playing for the Pioneers this fall. Max Hiese decommitted from Michigan State University and announced his commitment to Denver on Wednesday, also on Instagram.  

So far, according to Elite Prospects, eight of the 11 players already listed on Denver’s roster for next season have come from the CHL, seven of which were WHL players.

In addition to Rudolph and Hiese, players joining the Pioneers next year who spent time in the WHL this season include Edmonton Oil Kings assistant captain Blake Fiddler, Vancouver Giants assistant captain Ryan Lin, Portland Winterhawks captain Ryan Miller, Calgary Hitmen defender Ben Macbeath, and Winterhawks winger Sam Spehar. Forward Alexander Donovan also joins the team from the Saint John Sea Dogs of the QMJHL. 

The schedule for the 2026-27 Prince Albert Raiders season will be announced later this summer.
