Eileen Hunt – August 20, 1934 – May 24, 2026
It is bittersweet that we announce the passing of our beautiful Mom, Eileen. Bitter because she will be so deeply missed by all her family and friends, but sweet because Mom is no longer in pain, and most of all, is finally reunited with Dad whom she missed every day for almost 18 years.
Mom and Dad were married 54 years and their life was built on love, family, friendship, and many adventures. Mom was extremely proud of her three children, but even more so, her seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She very much enjoyed hearing about their many accomplishments in life.
Mom’s favorite past times were watching the Blue Jays, the Roughriders, curling, and 40+ years of Young & Restless! The family grocery store purchased in 1974 wasn’t just work, it was the backbone that held the family together, through every season of life. After Dad’s passing, Mom volunteered at the Victoria Hospital (which she really enjoyed) until COVID put a stop to that.
Mom made long lasting friendships and definitely lived life to the fullest. She touched the lives of everyone she met in the most positive way. Mom will be fondly remembered for her unwavering sense of humour and wit. Our family cannot say enough about the Rose Garden Hospice, where Mom spent her final days.
Mom will be lovingly remembered by her children, Penny (Rick), Rick (Donna), and Tracey (Garth); her grandchildren, Nicole (Brian), Kirsten, Theron (Jessica), Alex (Austin), Bobbi (Ben), Mandy (Anthony), Erick (Kiah); her great-grandchildren, Emmett, Opal, Leslie Rose, Camdyn and Jayde; her sister, Faye (Walter); brother-in-law Lester; Nephews, Myron (Shelley) and Carmen (Lisa); special niece Iris; and, special friends (that were like family), Gordon and Marion Skiftun, Tracy and Brian Anderson, and Fern Eldstrom. She also had numerous nieces and nephews that loved their Aunt Eileen.
The funeral for Eileen will be held Friday, June 5th at 11:00 AM at Gateway Covenant Church, located at 1500 15th Street East, Prince Albert. In lieu of other tributes, donations in Eileen’s memory can be made to Gateway Covenant Church www.gatewaycovenant.ca or the Rose Garden Hospice http://www.rosegardenhospice.ca.
