Della “Marie” Hustej

Della “Marie” Hustej, lovingly known as Marie, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, and also lived in Prince George, British Columbia, for a time.

Born on May 5, 1944, Marie lived a life centered on family, connection, and love. She was a proud member of the Métis Nation of Saskatchewan and carried that heritage with quiet strength.

Marie was predeceased by her husband, Andrew Joe Hustej (1984); her son, Ernie MacRae; her mother, Stella Vermette (Henry); and her sister, Cecile Vermette.

She is survived by her sister, June Armstrong of Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Marie will be lovingly remembered by her children, Dale MacRae – Vancouver, BC; Tracy Meyers (Doug Sharman) – Victoria, BC; Terri Hustej – Prince Albert, SK; Jodie Hustej – Prince Albert, SK; Audie Hustej – Prince Albert, SK; Jeannine Krushelniski – Calgary, AB; and Cindy Magder (Paul Magder) – Los Angeles, CA.

She was a proud grandmother and great-grandmother, with many grandchildren who brought her joy throughout her life.

Marie will be remembered for her warm spirit, her laughter, and her love of music. She enjoyed singing and playing the guitar, sharing those gifts with her family and creating lasting memories.

In her final days, she was surrounded by love, with her children and grandchildren by her side—just as family had always been at the center of her life.

A private family Celebration of Life will be held on at 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, with her children and grandchildren in attendance.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
