Lillian Wolffe
1945 – 2026
The family of Lillian Jeannine Marie Wolffe (Manegre) sadly announce her passing on April 21, 2026. Lillian was born on February 5, 1945 to Paul and Jeanine (Fontaine) Manegre in North Battleford, SK. She lived her first years in Leoville, SK until July 1956 when her family moved to Prince Albert, SK.
Lillian spent the bulk of her youth working by tending to horses and boarders who stayed in their family home. In the summers of her youth, she worked at her family business, the Waskesiu Riding Stables.
From a young age she loved horses and animals, especially the baby bear Teddy that she and her sisters raised for several months when she was seven. At the age of 17 Lillian won the Saskatchewan championship in limbo dancing. She could limbo as low as 16 inches.
In her 20s and early 30’s Lillian worked for the solicitor general and at the post office performing administrative work. In 1979 Lillian became a stay at home mom and used her typing skills to type essays for SIAST students using one of the first available personal computers in the late 1980’s and early 90’s. In the mid 1990’s she studied medical terminology and began working for the Victoria Union Hospital in admitting, originally in the Emergency department and later in the mental health department. She retired from that position in 2017.
Lillian married Wayne Wolffe on September 28, 1974 and they had three children: Shane (1979), Jason (1980) and Kristen (1982).
Lillian loved time up at Candle Lake, especially time at Waskateena Beach. She excelled at cooking and enjoyed visiting and hosting friends as well as the entertainment provided by her children’s friends. Many people have commented on her kindness and loving nature as something they remember fondly about her.
Lillian spent her last six months tending to her husband Wayne after an initial stroke he suffered in October 2025 which left him in poor health. On March 18, 2026 he suffered a second stroke and passed away on March 25. A week later on April 1, a combination of stress, pneumonia and preexisting health conditions led to Lillian having a hypoxic event which stopped her heart for approximately 20 minutes and left her in the ICU until she passed on April 21.
She is survived by her loving family: her sons Shane, Jason (Morgan Hobin) and grandson Matieus; daughter Kristen and grandchildren Nevaeh-Lilli, Hunter-Wayne, Willow, and Aspen; her sister Laurette (Ian) Cockburn, niece Susan Dubeau and nephew Dean Cockburn; nephews Wayne (Sherry), Gordon (Bonnie), Gerry (Lisa) Bueckert; and niece Judy (Dave) Pask.
She is also survived by her sister-in-law Lori Isinger, brothers-in-law Kenn Wolffe and Emil Berg, niece Mel Isinger, nephew Brad Berg (Brian Rolfes), niece Thyra (Ray Esau), and many other wonderful surviving family members and friends. Too many to name.
She was pre-deceased by her father Paul Manegre, mother Jeanne Manegre (Fontaine), sister Paulette Bueckert, brothers-in-law Abe and John Bueckert, nephew Dean Bueckert, mother-in-law Katherine Brule, sister-in-law Merrel Berg, brother-in-law Bob Isinger and his children Dawne, Doug and baby Richard.
We would like to thank the doctors, nurses and other hospital staff at Saint Paul’s Hospital and Victoria Hospital for the wonderful way they treated Lillian and her family during her illness.
A Celebration of the lives of Lillian Wolffe and Wayne Wolffe will take place on Friday, May 1, 2026 at 2 PM at Calvary United Church, 114 – 25th Street East in Prince Albert, SK.
