We are saddened to announce that Mitchell John Penner (b. January 2nd, 1964) of Blaine Lake, Saskatchewan, passed away unexpectedly on April 2nd, 2026.
He is survived by his father Stanley Penner; daughter Kaitlyn (Jayden) Pambrun; son Kevin (Cheyenne) Penner; grandsons Kree and Barrett; granddaughter Remi; sister Karstan (James) Wiebe; nephews Crow and Austin; he also has many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who will also miss him dearly.
He was predeceased by his mother Karon Penner.
Mitch worked at Maple Leaf Consumer Foods for 25 years and was very proud of his accomplishments as a Millwright.
He was also well known for his love of the outdoors, hunting and fishing, which he passed on to his children at a young age. He spent many hunting seasons with Kate and Kevin, sharing with them his love and respect for the wildlife and the outdoors.
Mitch always found time to return to his hometown, Bethune, where he grew up, and spend time with his friends, often helping out on the Shatkowski farm.
There will be a celebration of his life to be announced at a later date, which will be set in an outdoors setting, which we think is something that he would have liked the most and would honor his memory the best.
