Morna Ellen Folmer
1950-2026

It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Morna “Ellen” Folmer on March 20, 2026.

Ellen was born on May 19, 1950, in Tisdale, SK, the third of four children to Hector & Morna Macdonald.

Ellen grew up with her family in Star City, SK. She moved to 19th Street in Prince Albert as a young girl. She lived there with her family until she met the love of her life, John. After they were married, they moved to a farm in Steep Creek SK right across the road from where John grew up. There they farmed the land in the beginning and raised four amazing successful daughters that they were always very proud of. Ellen stayed home to raise the children and look after the farm until the youngest was in school. It was at that time, she went back to school to get her Professional Cooking Certificate and start a career at the Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert. There she met and kept some great friends. She retired when she was 60. After retirement she lived her best life. She had time to tend her garden and beautiful yard, and go berry picking as often as she could. She enjoyed spending as much time as possible with the people she valued most in her life. She was fortunate enough to be able to travel and see the world with family and wonderful friends.

Ellen was predeceased by her husband, John; her parents, Hector Macdonald & Morna (Jack) Ledoux; her brother, Danny; and her sister-in-law, Jane (Gordon); and brothers-in-law, Donny, Dieter and Bob. She leaves behind her four daughters, Tena (George), Dieda (Jason), Morna (Brad), and Helaina (Chris); her siblings, Donna (Louis) and Janette; her step-sister, Mona; her 19 grandchildren; her 19 great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The Funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, April 17, 2026, at River Park Funeral Home, in Prince Albert, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Diabetes Canada or the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
