Prince Albert police say a woman confined to a house in the city’s midtown neighbourhood was assaulted with weapons and robbed.

Those details are being shared following Saturday’s armed standoff.

At approximately 3:06 p.m., officers received a report that a woman had just been assaulted and robbed. Officers quickly arrived on scene and determined the incident was connected to a residence in the 500 block of 13th Street East.

The victim was located and received medical attention from Parkland Ambulance. While officers attended to the victim, additional members established containment around the identified residence.

During this time, two adult men fled the residence and were quickly apprehended.

Following a risk assessment, the event was categorized as a critical incident and specialized resources were called to assist, resulting in a controlled surround-and-call-out. All individuals exited the residence voluntarily, and a search warrant was subsequently executed, leading to the seizure of a firearm, ammunition, and other weapons.

In total, four individuals were arrested in connection with this investigation. One man has been charged with Robbery, Assault, Unlawful Confinement, and possession of a weapon while prohibited.

The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges are anticipated.
