Additional six-kilometre stretch of Highway 2 North to be twinned: Provincial budget
One of many details in this year’s provincial budget will directly impact families who commute to Prince Albert for work or who travel north from the city to the lakes.
One of the projects benefitting from the $764 million allocated for improving safety and enhancing key transportation corridors, is further twinning on Highway 2 North. According to information provided to paNOW by the Ministry of Highways, the six-kilometer long project will stretch from north of Red Wing Road to north of White Star Road.
A total estimated cost for construction won’t be known until a contractor is secured through the tendering process.
The entire project is expected to be completed by the end of 2027, pending weather and contractor progress. Prince Albert Northcote MLA Alana Ross spoke to paNOW about the project.
