Feb 26, 2026 | 5:24 PM

Curling teams from high schools around the North Central area of the province are in Prince Albert and La Ronge this weekend for the Region C regional curling championships.

Nineteen different schools are competing in Prince Albert in three different tournaments, including the boys, open doubles, and open mixed, which will be played at the Prince Albert Curling Centre. Meanwhile, six schools are in La Ronge for the girls tournament, where games will be played at the La Ronge Curling Club.

All games for the boys start at 10 a.m. Friday and the matches will be as follows:

  • Carlton vs Humboldt
  • Melfort vs Dalmeny
  • Wynyard vs Debden
  • Langham vs Nipawin

At the same time, the open mixed regionals will also be kicking off, with those games being between St. Mary and Englefeld, Carrot River and Hanley, Wadena and Shellbrook, and Warman and Nipawin.

Unlike the boys and the open mixed tournaments, only six teams will compete in the open doubles regional, with those games beginning at 1 p.m. between Warman and Muenster, and Rosthern and St. Mary 2. The winner of the first game will play St. Mary 1 at 4 p.m. and the winner of the second game will play Strasbourg, also at 4 p.m.

In La Ronge, the girls tournament will begin a little later on Friday at noon, with Choiceland taking on St. Mary and Tisdale going up against Meath Park. The winner of Choiceland/St. Mary will play La Ronge while the winner of Tisdale/Meath Park will lineup with Martensville. Those games will begin at 3 p.m.

The finals for each of the tournaments in Prince Albert will begin on Saturday at 1 p.m., while the final for the girls regional in La Ronge is set for 3 p.m.
