FUNERAL INFORMATION UPDATED:
It is with great sadness we the family announce the sudden loss of our father Fred Stephens, late of Prince Albert, SK on February 1st, 2026, at the age of 77 years. Fred was born in Toronto, ON, on December 3rd, 1948.
Fred arrived in Prince Albert in the summer of 1959 at the age of 10. He had a rough childhood and never finished school. He started working at a very young age. Fred worked many different jobs until he started employment at Saskatchewan Rivers Public School Division, working with the maintenance team for 35 years until he retired in 2013.
He loved his job working with the maintenance team, he loved his time spent with all the students, watching them grow as the years passed bye. Anyone who knew Fred understood that he was a big kid at heart. Fred was loved by the entire community of Prince Albert.
Fred is survived by his daughter Lori (Craig) Keller, & his son Kelly (Lauretta) Stephens; His grandkids Kayla Keller, Kendal Keller, Devlin Stephens, & Chayzen Stephens (Stephanie); His great grandson newborn Boudewjin Stephens.
Fred was predeceased by his son Jeffery Stephens; his mother Alice Hillbom; his brother Gordon Stephens; & his sister Valerie Veldhoen.
Thank You to each and everyone of you for taking him in as family of your own. We are grateful to you all for watching over him and just providing him with your compassion and friendship. You are all in our hearts as we know that the loss of Fred extends beyond just his immediate family.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Fred on February 20th, at 1:00 PM at MacKenzie Chapel with coffee and dainties to follow at the Prince Albert Legion Hall, 133 8th Street East, Prince Albert.
