Florence Casavant
1929 ~ 2026

With love in our hearts and beautiful memories to cherish, we announce that Florence Rita Casavant passed away on January 30, 2026, at the age of 96.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Nora Jacobs. Her son, Len Casavant and Glenda (née Crawford); grandchildren, Mark Jacobs & Dana (née Wood), Robbie Casavant & Chelsea (née Anderson), Christie (née Casavant) & Carson Magnuson; her great-grandchildren, Hope, Collins, Jemma and Crew; and one sister-in-law, Alice Kusch.

She was predeceased by her husband, Rene; son, Freddie; her parents, Arthur & Margaret Beauchesne; her brothers, Fern & Bob Beauchesne; and many brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law.

Florence was born and raised in Albertville, Saskatchewan. After she married Rene Casavant in 1952, they established their home in Domremy where they remained until they moved to Prince Albert in 1971. There, after a few moves, they settled into managing and living at Cedar Village Apartments for 11 years. When they retired, they bought a condo in Prince Albert, where mom remained until she moved to assisted living at Abbeyfield, followed by Mont St Joseph’s 9 years ago.

Mom and dad spent many years enjoying summer at their cabin at Sunnyside Beach boating, fishing and playing cards. Mom continued to enjoy fishing with Len and his family until recent years. They went on several trips enjoying warmer climates, and she continued to go on a few trips in later years. She was always a home maker. Loved a clean organized home, cooking, baking, sewing, crocheting, doing crafts. She loved to grow plants and could grow and nurture all kinds of beautiful house plants.

We are all blessed to have shared in mom’s life. The family is so very grateful for the compassion and care she received in her final days from the staff at Mont St. Joseph’s. The last 9 years of her life, living at Mont St. Josephs in Prince Albert were very comforting to mom. She loved her home there and especially loved the many staff members who were always so kind to her, making each day so beautiful and wonderful.

Please join us at 1:00 p.m., on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at River Park Funeral Home, in Prince Albert, SK, for the funeral service to honor and celebrate mom’s life, with Rev. Fr. DJ Vu officiating. Interment to follow in the Garden of Sermon on the Mount, at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens.
