Jan 27, 2026 | 5:00 PM

The Prince Albert Mintos return to the ice on Tuesday night after a tough three-in-three this past weekend.

The Mintos dropped a 7-3 decision to the Estevan Bears at home on Friday night, before heading to Moose Jaw on Saturday and Sunday for back-to-back games against the top-ranked Warriors, with those games ending in favour of Moose Jaw 11-2 and 9-2. Following the weekend, Prince Albert is now 12-17-3-1 (W-L-OTL-SOL) on the year.

With the losses, the Mintos have now dropped 11 of their last 12 games. It’s a stretch that’s highlighted by an eight-game losing streak dating from Dec. 7 to Jan. 6. The lone victory came on Jan. 14 against the Battlefords Stars, which they won 7-3 in North Battleford.

Maxim Cooper had four points in the weekend for P.A., notching three goals and an assist to bring his season total to 29 points (14g-15a) in his rookie campaign. Meanwhile, Carter Wingert had a goal and two assists, Cohen Greenwood had a pair of goals, and Burke Whitter, Staiden Parenteau and Madden Dell each had two assists. Wyatt Nelson and Jaden Blanchette split time in goal, with Nelson seeing over 100 shots and Blanchette facing over 60.

With the weekend in the rearview mirror, the focus is now on the Warman Wildcats, as the Mintos make the trek to the Warman Home Centre Communiplex.

The Wildcats are coming off a loss in their latest contest, a 5-0 shutout on Sunday at the hand of the league-best Regina Pat Canadians. Prior to that, Warman was riding a four-game win streak that featured wins over Tisdale, Yorkton, and Estevan. The Wildcats are 7-3-0-0 in their last 10 and currently sit fifth in league standings with a 20-12-1-0 record.

The Wildcats are led by Sam Failler who has 36 points (14g-22a) on the year, followed by Dade Wotherspoon with 35 (18g-17a) and Cash Arcand-Vandale with 30 (14g-16a). Seth Gutenberg has been the go-to-guy for Warman in net, posting an 11-8-1-0 record to pair with a 2.87 goals against average (GAA) and a .901 save percentage (SV%). Backup Jacob Appleby has also been sharp, registering 9-4-0-0 record with a 3.14 GAA and .895 SV%.

Tuesday’s meeting will be the last one of the regular season between P.A. and Warman. The Wildcats have won the previous three contests, outscoring the Mintos 15-9 in those games. Puck drop for their fourth and final meeting of the season is set for 7 p.m.

Following the game, Prince Albert will head down south this weekend for their one and only trip to Estevan, where the Mintos will wrap up their season series with two games against the Bears on Saturday and Sunday.
