After a statement win on Saturday that saw the end of a 19-game-win streak for one of the top teams in the league, the Prince Albert Raiders made another statement on Tuesday when they welcomed the Victoria Royals. The Raiders posted one of their biggest offensive nights in recorded history, and they cruised to a 12-2 victory.

It all started on the first powerplay of the game. At the 4:17 mark, Jonah Sivertson got the puck back to the wall for Brock Cripps, then left side for Justice Christensen in his usual spot where he blasted a onetimer for his 12th of the season.

At the 9:47 mark, the Raiders doubled their lead on the forecheck. Aiden Oiring sent the puck back up from the corner to Daxon Rudolph at the right point, and he sent a hard pass to the slot for Brayden Dube to tip into the back of the net for his 20th on the year.

At 14:34, Matyas Man retrieved the puck in his own zone and sent the puck up the right wall for Evan Smith. He then quickly found Alisher Sarkenov coming off the bench and behind the defence, and Sarkenov put his 11th of the season through the fivehole on the breakaway. Through the entire first period, the Raiders hardly allowed Victoria to even cross their blueline, and the only shot Michal Orsulak faced came from the wall near the goal line.

It took the onslaught 0:38 into the second period to find another goal. Justice Christensen from the left point sent a shot wide of the goal, and it bounced back up the right wall for Daxon Rudolph. He mimicked his play from the first period and sent an identical pass to the slot Aiden Oiring, who tipped it in for his 18th of the year.

The Royals started to find their legs after that, and they would cut the lead in half starting at the 2:31 mark when Layne Schofield set up Eli McKamey for a partial breakaway, and he lifted a backhand in tight over Orsulak’s shoulder and right under the bar. Then at 12:13 mark, the Royals scored their second of the game when Henry Peterson fired a shot from the point that was tipped in by Ashton Brown.

The Raiders found their groove again by the end of the period, and Brayden Dube stole a puck at his own blueline before sending it ahead to Brandon Gorzynski. He backed his way over the blueline, then turned around and quickly fired a wrister over the shoulder for his 19th of the year.

After 2: Raiders 5 – 2 Royals, shots 7-6 Royals, 21-8 Raiders overall

The third period saw the Raiders onslaught continue with seven more goals spread out through the period, and Royals goaltender Jake Pilon was left in for all of them after already allowing the first five.

At 2:45, Riley Boychuk fed the puck below the goal line for Alisher Sarkenov, and he set up an Evan Smith onetimer for his 10th of the year. Then at 3:31, Justice Christensen and Owen Corkish each picked up assists when Connor Howe got a pass in the slot and fired for his third of the year.

Then at 5:50, just after a powerplay expired, Brandon Gorzynski and Aiden Oiring both picked up assists when Max Heise fired a onetimer in from the slot. Then at the 7:45 mark, Brock Cripps came down the left wall to help Jonah Sivertson get the puck loose, and they both picked up assists when Sivertson found Boychuk alone in the slot for his 10th of the year.

The Raiders took a nine minute break from the scoring, but that started again at 16:15. Connor Howe sent a puck up the left wall, Owen Corkish found in the corner, then he sent it out front for Aiden Oiring who tipped in his second of the game. Then at 16:50, Linden Burrett and Jonah Sivertson earned assists when a loose puck came to Matyas Man in the middle of the blueline, then he ripped a wrist shot bar down for his second of the year.

Finally at 18:19, Brock Cripps cycled the puck into the corner for Maddix McCagherty, and McCagherty sent it to the top of the slot where Jonah Sivertson was waiting and Sivertson fired his 15th of the season home to put the exclamation mark on the game.

FINAL: Raiders 12 – 2 Royals, shots 16-8 Raiders, 37-16 Raiders overall

The win goes down as the biggest score the Raiders have scored in a game on home ice since January 12, 1995 when the Raiders scored 15 on home ice against the Moose Jaw Warriors.

A total of 16 players had points on the Raiders with 13 of them posting at least two. Aiden Oiring lead the game with 2G-2A, and now moves back into the team lead in scoring.

The only two Raiders on the ice left without a point were forward Braeden Cootes and defenceman Benett Kelly.

Of note, Brayden Dube took an awkward hit at the end of the second period. He returned to take the opening faceoff for the third, but left the ice immediately and never returned.

Last time the Raiders were involved in a 12-2 game was December 3, 2016, but the Raiders were on the losing end of a 12-2 final in Regina.

The Raiders are off Wednesday before they start their third three-games-in-three nights stretch of the season, first in Moose Jaw on Thursday, in Swift Current on Friday, and then back home against Medicine Hat on Saturday.
