Jan 7, 2026 | 4:28 PM

An SUV involved in a crash in Prince Albert’s East Hill area had fled from police officers at a high rate of speed.

That’s according to information provided by Saskatchewan RCMP.

Early Wednesday morning, at approximately 1 a.m., Prince Albert RCMP were conducting proactive traffic enforcement and observed an SUV driving erratically on Second Ave. E.

Officers attempted a traffic stop but the driver did not obey and fled eastbound on 22nd St. East.

Prince Albert RCMP did not give chase, opting instead to disengage their emergency equipment and followed in the SUV’s direction.

Shortly after, they came upon a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of 6th Ave. E. and 22nd St. E.

One of the vehicles involved was the SUV they been pursuing. The other vehicle was a car.

Five individuals exited the SUV and fled on foot. They were later arrested and three were transported to hospital.

The passenger of the car was also transported to hospital.

All the injuries were described as non-life-threatening in nature. The driver of the car did not report injuries to police.

This investigation remains ongoing and at this time, no charges have been laid.
