Mary Grace Van Der Koot
September 3, 1930 – December 31, 2025
With great sadness the family of Grace Van Der Koot, late of Birch Hills and formerly of Weldon, announce her passing on December 31, 2025.
Grace was born to Emily and Harold Hollands at Pangman, SK. She grew up on the family farm, attending Pangman School. She took Nurses Training at Regina General Hospital graduating in 1953. She nursed at Eatonia, SK and Kinistino, SK.
Grace married Nick Van Der Koot June 30, 1956 in Weldon, SK. They farmed together 12 miles north of Weldon for over 40 years. Their marriage was blessed with the birth of four daughters. Grace lived on the farm until after Nick’s passing, moving to Birch Hills in 2003. She entered Birchview Nursing Home in August of 2024 and remained there until entering Hospital December 23, 2025.
She was active in Rose Hill Lutheran Church and after its closing, Lake Park Baptist Church, as well as always supporting community events. She loved music including singing and playing piano, violin and omnichord.
Grace will be remembered for her strong Christian faith, loving heart, concern for so many and a life fully lived.

She is pre-deceased by her parents, husband Nick, and son-in-law Clayton Gerein.
Family would like to thank the Birchview Nursing Home Staff for the wonderful care they gave Grace over the last year and a half. Also family would like to thank Dr. Ekpenike, Dr. James, the Level Six Staff at Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert and the Rose Garden Hospice for the wonderful care Grace received during the last days of her life.
Public Visitation will be held from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK. The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at Lake Park Baptist Church, (North of Birch Hills, SK on highway 3).
