In addition to the Prince Albert Raiders opening 2026 with a home-and-home series against the Regina Pats, teams from other leagues in Prince Albert are bringing in the new year with their own faceoffs.

In the Prairie Junior Hockey League (PJHL), the Prince Albert Timberjaks are looking to improve their 9-13-0-3 record (wins-losses-ties-overtime losses). The team travels to Carrot River Friday night to play the Outback Thunder at Kearns Arena at 7:30 p.m.

Forward Brody Anderson, who won the 2025/25 League Rookie of the Year Award, leads the team with 11 goals and 11 assists for 22 points in 25 games. On Sunday, the Timberjaks head to Saskatoon to play the Royals

In U18 AAA action, the Prince Albert Mintos host the Swift Current Legionnaires on Saturday night. Puck drop is 7 p.m. at the Art Hauser Centre. The two teams will meet again Sunday afternoon. The Mintos most recently played in the Saskatchewan Hockey Classic.

The inaugural tournament started on Boxing Day in Saskatoon; however, the Mintos lost their three round robin games and missed the semifinals. The Saskatoon Blazers were tournament champions.

On the women’s side, the Mann Northway Northern Bears aren’t in action again until Jan. 10 when they visit the Battlefords WPD Ambulance Sharks.

The Prince Albert Lake Country Co-op Timberwolves start the new year sitting in seventh place out of eleven teams in the Centre Four standings in the U18 AA league. They host the Martensville Marauders on Saturday afternoon for a 2:45 p.m. matinee. On Sunday, they host the North West Stars at 5:30 p.m. at the Lake Country Coop Leisure Centre.

On the girls side in U18 AA action, the Prince Albert Family Pizza Foxes host the Western Prairie Thunder at 2 p.m. at the Leisure Centre. Rookie defenceman Steele Zablocki leads the team in points with 4 goals and 7 assists in 11 games.
