It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Matthew Morvan Mercredi, late of Stony Rapids, SK on December 26^th, 2025, at the age of 74 years. Matthew was born in Stony Rapids, SK on March 20^th, 1951, to Boniface and Judith Mercredi. Morvan will be lovingly remembered by his children Melvin (Crystal), Diane, & Melanie; his grandchildren Carson (Jordan), Raely (Brian), Jesse, Adrienne, Rubin, Gabriel, Mitchell Jr., Darcy, Harlen, Riley, & Ethan; his great grandchildren Tyler, Thompson, Trinity Maia, Nina & Aurora; his godchildren Priscilla Roy, & Ashton Robillard; his siblings Billy Joe (Georgina), John (Florence), June (Joe) Hanson, Jennifer, Barbara, Caroline (Jerome) Mercredi, Jerry Mercredi, Robert Mercredi, & Randy Maurice; his in-laws Ellen Mercredi, Theresa Mercredi, Florence MacDonald, Victor (Rosie) Robillard, Mary Rose (Alan) Piesenger, John Robillard, George (Eileen) Robillard, Freddie Robillard, Flora Gould, Albert (Lena) MacDonald, Gilbert (Helen) MacDonald, Alice (Daniel) Powder, Bev (Bob) Goertzen, Lynda MacDonald (Lawrence), Bertha (Scott) Harvey, & Garry MacDonald; his mother-in-law Martha McDonald; his godsister Margaret Laban; ss well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.  Morvan was predeceased by his wife Jean Mercredi; his parents Boniface & Judith Mercredi; his father-in-law Martin McDonald; his brothers Freddie, Edwin, Philip, Gilbert, Eugenie & Georges; his sisters Elsie & Christina; his grandparents Modeste, Helen and Rosalie Mercredi, Moise & Louisa Mercredi; his aunts and uncles Leon Mercredi, Donald and Ermiline Mercredi, Ernestine (Philip) Robillard, Christina Mercredi, George (Adeline) Mercredi, Emile and Marie Tralenberg, Elizabeth & Alphonse Lafferty, Rosanna & John Louie Lafferty; his in-laws Albertine Tralnberg, Valentine Mercredi, Modest Robillard, Alphonse Robillard; his niece Amy Powder; his nephews Eldon Goertzen, Alvin MacDonald. A Visitation Service will be held on Tuesday, December 30^tht, 2025 at 5 PM at MacKenzie Funeral Chapel in Prince Albert, SK. A Wake Service will commence Wednesday December 31^st, 2025, at the residence of Diane Mercredi in Stony Rapids, SK. Funeral Service will take place on Friday, January 2^nd, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the Stony Rapids Community School Gym in Stony Rapids, SK. The Officiant will be Fr. Edmundo Caballero. The Honourary Pallbearers are Billy Joe Mercredi, Jimmy Laban, Magloire MacDonald, Albert MacDonald, Mervin MacDonald, Victor Robillard, Freddy Robillard, John Mercredi, Wade Gould, Gerald MacDonald, Gilbert MacDonald, Garry MacDonald, George Robillard, Victor MacDonald, numerous nieces and nephews, and all those who shared in his life.
