Sharon Head
1938 – 2025
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Sharon Ann Head (née McMahon) announces her passing. Sharon was born on June 22, 1938, and passed away on December 23, 2025.
Sharon was born and raised in Nipawin, Saskatchewan, where she spent her childhood and attended school. After graduating, she attended evening classes at Prince Albert Business College while working at Burns Meats. Upon earning her certificate, she began working in the office at Woolworths Department Store.
Sharon met Clifford at a dance, and they dated until their marriage on November 2, 1957. Together they raised three children: Sandra (1958), Valerie (1960), and Ronald (1964).
Sharon stayed home to raise her children during their younger years. Once they were older, she returned to the workforce, working at Sally Shops and Coles Book Store. In later years, she was employed as a switchboard operator at North Park Centre. Following its closure, she worked for Saskatchewan Health and later Saskatchewan Social Services, where she remained until her retirement in 2003.
Sharon was diagnosed with dementia in late 2020. As her disease progressed, she moved into Mont St. Joseph’s Care Home in June of 2021, where she resided until her passing. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Mont St. Joseph’s for the compassionate care, and kindness shown to Sharon during her time there.
Sharon was immensely proud of her grandchildren and spoiled them at every opportunity. She was fortunate to witness four of her grandchildren marry and to enjoy time with her great-grandchildren and she especially loved when they’d visit her in the home.
She was an Honorary Life Member of the Royal Purple, a member of the Red Hat Society, and an avid golfer with the Business Girls Golf Club.
Sharon leaves to mourn her passing her beloved husband of 68 years, Clifford Head; her daughters Sandra Power (Dave) and Valerie Gouldhawke (Wayne); and her son Ronald Head. She will be lovingly remembered by her nine grandchildren: Geoff Power (Courtney) and their children Jazmyn, Brynnin, and Roewen; Shauna McKee (Michael) and their children Mikhail (Maddie) and their son Brooks, Pyper, Tatum, and Harlynn; Douglas Gerstner; Amy Harnett (Jess) and daughter Liv; Andrew Gerstner (Laura) and their children Liam, Arie, and Hannah; David Gerstner; Alexa Bouvier and son Ryker; Danica Bouvier; and Razcal Head.
She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Levena (Bob) Bebault and Ona Head, along with many nieces and nephews.
Sharon was predeceased by her parents Harold and Lilah Marie McMahon; her brother and sister-in-law Irvin and Hilda McMahon; her sisters and brothers-in-law Aldona and Evan Hargrave and Audrey and Forrest (Bud) Moss; her parents-in-law Carlton and Golda Head; her sister-in-law Irma Head; her brothers-in-law Virgil Head, Clinton Head, and Larry Head; her sisters-in-law Dianne Head and Marie Head; and her son-in-law Tom Power.
