Mintos set to face Warman in final games of first half
The Prince Albert Mintos have just two games remaining on the schedule ahead of the holidays, both against the Warman Wildcats.
The Highway 11 rivals will face off on Thursday night at the Art Hauser Centre in P.A., before rematching on Sunday afternoon at the Warman Home Centre Communiplex.
The Mintos enter the game on a three-game skid, having been outscored by their opponents 22-5 over those three contests. Prince Albert also has just one win in their last five games, which came back on Dec. 6 in 4-2 fashion over Moose Jaw at home. Currently, the Mintos don an 11-12-1-0 (W-L-OTL-SOL) record and sit in ninth in league standings, just one spot shy of a playoff spot.
Meanwhile, the Wildcats also come into P.A. on a bit of a down after being swept in their weekend doubleheader in Swift Current last weekend. Prior to that though, Warman was riding a four-game winning streak. The Wildcats are 13-9-1-0 on the year, placing them sixth in the standings. Warman was also one of three teams from the SMAAAHL to be invited to the Circle K Classic in Calgary later this month, alongside Regina and Moose Jaw.
