It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Wilfred Moses Bird, late of Montreal Lake, SK on November 29^th, 2025, at the age of 71years. Wilfred was born August 8^th, 1954, in Montreal Lake, SK. Wilfred will be lovingly remembered by his sons Donald Bird, Amil Bird, Abel Bird & William Bird; his daughter Angie Bird-Smith; his brother Lenny Bird; his special nieces Pearl Peters (Ron Umperville), & Patty Anne Bird; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Wilfred was predeceased by his wife: Sarah Bird; his parents Amelia Bird & William Pruden; his children Wilfred Jr. Halkett, & Dallas Halkett; his brothers Daniel Wilson Bird, Hinez Bird, Roy Bird, & Ricky Bird; his sisters Clara Nelson, Priscilla Peters, & Melinda Bird. A Wake Service will be commencing Monday, December 1^st, 2025, at 7PM at St Joseph Anglican Church in Montreal Lake First Nation, SK. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 3^rd, 2025, at 11 AM at St. Joseph Anglican Church in Montreal Lake First Nation, SK. The Officiants will be Rev. Deacon Trevor Roberts, Rev. Deacon April Lavallee, & Rev. Harry Halkett. The Honourary Pallbearers are all those who shared in Wilfred’s life. The Pallbearers are Chief Joyce McLeod, Randy Nelson, Melvina Peters, Cameron Ballantyne, Adrian Smith, James “Chillwee” Bird, Patty Anne Bird, Sterling Bird, Lazarus Bird, Stella Bird, Linda Smith-Bird, Ester Smith, Elsa Henderson, Sandi Bird, Islida Bird, Pearl Peters, Ron Umperville, Pat & Ester Smith, Jackie, Janice, Brett, Marianne, Bernadine, Richard Henderson, Beasto “Collin” Bird, Russell Charles, Vivcent Smith, Stevie Ross, Rose Henderson, Adam (5 children), Angie (2 children), Andrew Bird, Debbie Charles, Evelyn Bird, Violet Bird, Joe Henderson, Leon Smith, & Edward Smith. The Interment will take place at the Montreal Lake Cemetery in Montreal Lake First Nation, SK.
