Buckland reeve resigns one year into term

Larry Eros, first elected reeve of the RM of Buckland has resigned.

The RM confirmed Eros resigned in a news release issued on November 26. He was first elected to municipal office as reeve in the November 2024 general election.

PaNOW reached Eros by phone for comment but he declined to share his reason for stepping down “for now.”

The rest of council extended appreciation for Eros’ time in office and his service and contributions as reeve.

A byelection to replace him must be held within six months under Saskatchewan law but it will be up to council to determine the date and other details in an upcoming meeting.
