Mintos score four unanswered to comeback and stun Battlefords

Nov 26, 2025 | 12:38 PM

The Prince Albert Mintos were thieves on Tuesday night after stealing a win over the Battlefords Stars at the Art Hauser Centre.

The Mintos were down by three goals at the midway mark of the third period, before they rallied for four unanswered goals to rob the Stars of the victory, 5-4. The win puts Prince Albert back on track after dropping their last two contests to Warman and the Saskatoon Contacts.

Battlefords struck first when Kobi Weber found the back of the net at the 12:33 mark, while Noah Larre doubled the lead two minutes later.

After Mintos captain Barret Berger made it a one-goal game late in the second, Battlefords doubled up again to start the third with Millar Kramer netting one on the power play and Larre potting his second of the night, making it a 4-1 game with less than 15 minutes to play.

With just over eight minutes to go, Xander Pritchard began the comeback for P.A. and added fuel to the fire moments later, scoring his second of the game to get the Mintos back to within one.

While on the power play and with the net pulled, captain Berger cashed in for his second of the night and for the equalizer, making it 4-4 with three minutes left. Then, nearly 40 seconds later, the Mintos took their first lead of the game when Staiden Parenteau ticked twine for his first of the season, and his first at the AAA level.

The Stars would pull their goalie in the final moments in a last-ditch effort but couldn’t manage a goal in time as the Mintos escaped with a 5-4 win.

Wyatt Nelson and Jaden Blanchette combined for 26 saves in the win to help Prince Albert improve to 10-8-1-0 (W-L-OTL-SOL) on the campaign.

Meanwhile, Luke Norman made 28 stops for Battlefords as they fall to 10-7-2-1 on the season.

The Mintos are now off for the rest of the month and will return to action on Wednesday, Dec. 3 when they welcome the Saskatoon Contacts to P.A. for their final meeting of the season. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m.
