Victoria Mary Owcharuk

August 20, 1926 – October 17, 2025

The family of Victoria Mary Owcharuk are deeply saddened to announce her passing at the Rose Garden Hospice on October 17, 2025 at the age of 99.

Victoria was born in Strong Pine, SK on August 20, 1926.  She married Charles Novak in 1949 and they started their family in Chicago, Illinois, USA.  They had 2 children, Sheldon in 1951 and Karl in 1955.

In 1957, Victoria moved back to Prince Albert to begin her life’s unconditional dedication to raising her sons.  In 1977 Victoria met and married the love of her life, Serge Owcharuk.  A couple of years later they built their acreage dream home in the Peter Pond area.  In 1991 Serge developed health problems which he later succumbed to.  Victoria remained alone on this acreage until her passing in true pioneer fashion. She loved to get on her lawn tractor each week for 4 hours of cutting grass and attending to her garden.

Victoria was predeceased by her parents, Dan and Mary Kasmir; her husband Serge Owcharuk; her brothers Phil and Jim Kasmir; and her sister Stella Austin.

Left to mourn her passing is her son Sheldon Novak (Laura Spearman), grandson Chad Novak, and great grandson Vaughn; her son Karl Novak (Karen), granddaughter Jacey (Leon) Strube, great grandsons Ryker, Maddox, Lochlan, and Toryn, granddaughter Shelby (James) Gordon, and great granddaughter Aubrey.

The Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 24, 2025 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 28^th Street West, Prince Albert, SK, followed by interment at South Hill Cemetery, Prince Albert, SK.
