Frances “Anne” Marchand

1946 – 2025

 

The family of Frances “Anne” Marchand sadly announces her passing on October 11, 2025, at the age of 79.

Anne was born and raised in Candle Lake, Saskatchewan, where she helped her parents, Minnie and Nemo Sackett, run the family store. She later cared for many children through her home daycare and was known for her kind heart and quirky sense of humour — a trait she kept right to the very end.

Anne was a devoted wife to Frank Marchand and a loving mother to their two children: Wayne Marchand (Louise) of Prince Albert, and Velda Court of Candle Lake. She was a proud grandmother to six: Jade and Cody of Prince Albert; Andy Winder (Kaley) of Birch Hills; Tarren Winder (Kelsey) of Spruce Home; Kylie Berg (Dion) of Wakaw; and Kayden Court of Prince Albert. She was also blessed with ten great-grandchildren — Burton, Annika, Avi, Brantley, Ivy, Ella, Klarke, Fletcher, Aileya, and Kingsley — who brought her immense joy.

Anne cherished her biological mother, Shirley Day, and her sisters Karen (Vinko) and Patricia.

She is predeceased by her husband Frank, her parents Minnie and Nemo, and her sister Patricia.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at Victoria Hospital and Nelson Care Home for their compassionate care and kindness.

A Private Family Service will be held.
