It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shawn Benjamin McCullough on September 7, 2025 at the age of 55 years , in Christopher Lake, Saskatchewan. Shawn is lovingly remembered by his mother Gwen Quon; his sister Tracey Basaraba (Darcy); his nephew Jon (Kelly) Basaraba and their children Rylan and Brook; and his niece Logan (Curtis Gilbert) Basaraba and their children Caidence, Adalynn, Lincoln, Colt, and Everleigh. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins from British Columbia to Ontario and everywhere in between. Shawn held close many dear friends who became like family, including Joan, Arlene, and Virginia Umpherville, as well as Renee and Scott Horner. Throughout his life, Shawn was known for his strong work ethic and wide range of skills. He worked in bars both locally and in Alberta, before moving into scaffolding, where he advanced to the role of superintendent with various companies across the province. Later in life, he took on roles as a tow truck driver, carpenter, and most recently earned his Class 1A license and began driving truck-a job he was proud of and enjoyed up until his passing. Shawn had a deep love for hunting, but nothing compared to his passion for riding his Harley. He found great joy on the road, the ride and especially the people he rode with. His sense of humour, infectious laughter, and knack for making people smile left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Friends often asked, ” Did you see Shawn’s lateset video?” always followed by a good laugh or a big grin. Shawn will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
