Sawed off rifle, knife and drugs seized in Red Wing traffic stop
A traffic stop in Red Wing on Wednesday ended in positive results for Prince Albert RCMP and a less positive outcome for the people in the vehicle.
Officers were doing proactive patrols on Aug. 13 around 3 p.m. when they pulled over a car in a parking lot in the small community north of the city.
A loaded sawed-off rifle, a knife and about 25 grams of a substance that is believed to be crystal meth were found in the car. It was sent to Health Canada for further testing.
Meanwhile, a 26-year-old man from Pelican Narrows and a 24-year-old woman from Prince Albert were arrested at the scene. Both face various weapons charges, including obtaining a weapon by crime and having a weapon with a tampered serial number.
