Police on scene near Correctional Centre

UPDATE: Police say that the need for the public to avoid the area is ended, although officers remain in the area as part of the continuing investigation.

Officers do not believe there is a risk to public safety.

PA Police warned the public to avoid the area of the 2900 block of First Ave. West this morning.

The warning was issued just after 8 a.m. When paNOW arrived at the scene, two people were seen coming out of a home on First Ave W and walking towards officers, just before 9 a.m.

More information will be shared as it becomes available.
