Eileen Barbara Zarazun (nee Miller)
1938 – 2025
It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of 87 year old Eileen Zarazun on August 1, 2025.
Loving mother of Denise (Ernie) Marcotte, Scott Zarazun, and Lori (Calvin) Kosowan. Proud grandmother to her adored grand children Levi (Renee) Kosowan, Tanner Kosowan, Corbin Kosowan, Todd (Emily) Marcotte, and Monique Marcotte; great grandmother to William, Stevie Mae, and Jack Kosowan, and Maddox, Meyer, and Maelee Marcotte. She was predeceased by her husband Allan Zarazun, son Scott, parents Frank and Mary Miller, in-laws Paul and Stefka Zarazun, sisters Lauretta Schmidt, Clara Schultz, and Margaret Briltz, sister in-law Evelyn Kowalchuk, brothers-in-law Howard Schmidt and August Kowalchuk, and son-in-law Ernie Marcotte.
Eileen was born in Weyburn, Saskatchewan, the 4th of a family of seven girls! She is survived by her sisters Rosalea (Sandy) Cameron, Anne McIntyre, and Fran (Gerry) Fincati; sisters-in-law Edna (Clark) Gable, Audrey (George) Greig, and Aldine Zarazun; and many nieces and nephews.
Eileen will be sadly and lovingly missed by her family, her best friend Karen Henderson of Prince Albert, friend Marie Herzog of River Breeze Care Home, the River Breeze staff, and many more friends and acquaintances.
Eileen lived and worked towards obtaining a fulfilled life. After marrying in July of 1961, she willingly accepted her role as a wife, mother, and farmhand. The next 5 years found her cooking meals, growing gardens, and raising 3 children. Mom returned to work as hospital administration staff in both Yorkton and later Prince Albert. Lastly working for Saskatchewan Forest Products until her retirement.
The family built cabin at Weyakwin Lake provided many a “happy hour” and was enjoyed by family and friends. Mom and Dad spent much of their retirement at the cabin. Mom volunteered (decades of) her time for the PA Victoria Union Hospital Maternity Ward as she lovingly created beautifully crocheted baby caps that were distributed to each newborn baby!
A Celebration of Eileen’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 15, 2025 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK. Interment will follow at South Hill Cemetery, 135 Marquis Road West, Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. The family invites you to join them for lunch and fellowship after the interment.
