Delores Chornoby

Delores Chornoby was the best of the best. Born in Wakaw, SK on August 6, 1961 to Gaby and Jean-Paul Gareau, Delores grew up in Bellevue, SK. The fifth of nine children, Delores matched and often surpassed her siblings’ mischievous sense of humour. With her quick wit, easy laugh and flower hair clip, Delores brightened every room and made friends effortlessly. Throughout her life she lived in St Louis, North Battleford, Prince Albert, SK and Fort Smith, NT. She had various occupations as a terrific cook and also ran a daycare. More recently, she worked at the Rivier Academy and the Herb Bassett Home. Delores loved children and her own daughter Lisa was the light of her life, bringing her endless joy. An eternal optimist, Delores would often remind Lisa and others that “our good days are coming.” She proudly lived to see Lisa wed Jason (her “movie star son-in-law”) in Lake Tahoe, California. Delores’ sense of humour delighted friends and family until her final days. She passed away peacefully at Rose Garden Hospice in Prince Albert on June 15, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Delores was married twice and her second husband Jim has been awaiting her in heaven, along with her father Jean-Paul and her sister Evelyn. We send you to them, Delores, with all of our love. Your good days are here.
