It is with broken hearts that we announce the tragic passing of Curt O’Connell, son of Robert and Olga O’Connell, on May 24, 2025.

Curt lived an absolutely full life. He had a rebel spirit and a heart of gold. He would give anyone the shirt off his back, although you would never know it by the stern face he always had. He was affectionately given the nickname Oscar! Curt had dance moves like no other and had a laugh that would light up any room. His favorite things all involved his close friends and family.

Curt is Lovingly remembered by his wife Kim O’Connell from Debden, SK; daughter Stacey (Steven) Nordby and children Novaleigh, Aveah, and Jake from Debden, SK; son Kyler (Alicia) O’Connell and children Dawson, Daja, Kroft, and Gunnar from Debden, SK; daughter Katelin (Kris) Gjerde and children Alyssa, Becka, and Kohler from Canwood, SK; daughter Shelbie O’Connell and grand dog Bohdi of Leroy, SK; his 3 children from a previous relationship Lonnie Tayler and family, Lorea Tayler and family, and Jayson Tayler and family; sister Dorothy (John) Milburn from Saskatoon, SK; sister Delores Bennett from Saskatoon, SK; brother Gary (Debbie) O’Connell from Saskatoon, SK; mother-in-law Marlene Herdman; sisters-in-law Tracy (Jerome) Collins, Laurie (Doug) England, and Janine Collins; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents Robert “Burns” and Olga O’Connell; brothers Robert O’Connell, Pat O’Connell, Bill O’Connell; sister Betty Bauer; and father-in-law Robert Herdman.

The Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at the O’Connell family acreage (Mattes Road, 2 miles north of highway 55, east side of the road. Text 306-307- 4482 for more information). Bring your own lawn chair.

In lieu of tributes, donations may be made in memory of Curt to the Alzheimer’s Society of Saskatchewan (301 – 2550 – 12^th Ave Regina, SK S4P 3X1).
