It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Blaine Cochet, who passed away on the family farm near St. Louis, Saskatchewan, on May 18, 2025, at the age 63 years.
Born and raised in the St. Louis area, Blaine spent his years as a carpenter and maintenance worker. He was marked by hard work, kindness, and a strong connection to his community and the rural values he cherished.
Blaine also loved swimming. He would frequently visit the swimming pools in Prince Albert, Melfort, Saskatoon, as well as many lakes, especially Waskesui.
Blaine will be lovingly remembered by his two surviving brothers, Allan (Shirley) and Dale (Brenda) Cochet; sister-in-law, Lorraine Cochet, as well as extended family, friends, and neighbours who knew him as a loyal, gentle soul with a warm heart and a ready smile. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lillian and Robert Cochet; and Joe Royer, friend of Lillian; brother, Larry (Joyce) Cochet and son, Bradley Cochet; brother, Harvey Cochet; sister-in-law, Brenda Cochet.
He was a man of few words, but great character, always willing to lend a hand and share a story over coffee.
Blaine’s presence will be deeply missed in the community he called home for so many years.
The Memorial Service for Blaine will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at the Ste. Jeanne d’Arc Parish, in Domremy, SK, with Fr. Phong Pham officiating.
