Cornelius George Budd was born on May 18, 1956, in Cumberland House, SK, and passed away on May 4, 2025, in Prince Albert, SK, at the age of 68 years.
Cornelius went to school in Sturgeon Landing until grade 5, then left to continue his high school in Nipawin with his brother Wesley, and his other cousins and friends. After graduating high school, he moved to P.A. and got a job with Saskatchewan Environment as a drafting technician, which he retired after 35 years. He then worked with the Commissionaires Security until he finally got to enjoy his retirement.
Corny would go back every weekend to Sturgeon Landing to spend time with his brothers, sisters, and cousins in his younger years. He met his beautiful wife, Mary Viola, in P.A., where they married and had three children together, Shawn, Darren, and Chelsie.
He maintained his health and diabetes all his life, by playing hockey, baseball, curling, walking and jogging, as well as various other activities, like golf. He enjoyed going to bingo and the casino in his later years.
Corny was an avid hunter, commercial fishing, loved camping, and his traditional food. His favourite team was the Philadelphia Flyers, Toronto Blue Jays, and Saskatchewan Rough Riders, who he enjoyed watching.
He always maintained a healthy lifestyle and kept his diabetes and high blood pressure in check. Corny eventually had surgery for a heart pacemaker in December 2023, where he eventually would settle down and be there of his grandchildren, and made sure they went to school everyday.
