Frank Glen Carriere December 13, 1951 – May 02, 2025
Frank was born in Glen Mary, SK into what was to become a very large family. He spent his childhood playing a variety of sports, but he excelled in hockey. He continued to play hockey and referee with his good buddy, Milton Burns. He spent his young adult life in various cities and communities working at a variety of jobs.
In 1983 he met his future wife Janet and his son Chris. He did drywall for a few years until 1988 when he started working at the Friendship Centre. He had a few roles there – Fine Option agent, Mediation Worker and then Court Worker. He helped many people maneuver their way through the court system. He had a special touch when it came to dealing with people that frequented the Friendship Centre.
He retired in 2017 after 29 years at the Centre. After he retired, he continued to go to the Centre early in the morning to make sure that coffee was ready for the people and the staff when the doors opened. He enjoyed going to the A & W every morning for coffee to meet with his A & W buddies. He enjoyed going to the Heritage Seniors Centre to play cards and socialize.
Frank had a soft spot for children and women. Just when we thought that Frank could not show nor feel a deeper love for anyone, his grandson John was born in 2008 and in 2011, he was blessed again with his grandson Jack. The boys were his world! He would do anything for them. He had a special place in his heart for his niece Jackie. He also had a very soft spot for his niece Megan and was so excited when her girls, Gabby and Grace came into this world. He finally had some little girls to spoil!
