With heavy hearts, our best friend and brother Matthew David Smallboy left us on Saturday April 19, 2025, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan at the age of 36. Matthew, The Man, The Myth, The Legend, was born on June 25, 1988, in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.

Matthew appreciates good humour; he lifts our spirits with his laugh and jokes. When he is alone, Matthew enjoys poetry, journals and sketching in his notebook. As a devoted father, he wanted each one of his children to “grow up smart and be better than me.” Matthew always talked about children and how he misses them when they’re away. He prioritizes his family and always keeps in touch with his siblings. He was a best friend to his brothers, and he will be remembered for his generosity, and kind heart.

Matthew was survived by his children, Jaliyah, Serenity, Liam, Isaac, Kendrick, Elias & Colton; siblings, Gabriel (Robin), Jonathan, Kris (Kerry), and Jody; nephews and nieces, Nicolas, Riell, Kalem, Kristal, Kashton, Olivia, Joee, McKennah, Kingsley, Karissa, Krissa & Joe; aunts and uncles, Morris (Katherine), Linda, Rosemarie, Leona & Lorna; best friend, Robert Regan. And all who shared Matthew`s life.

Matthew was predeceased by his loving mother, Doris Smallboy; father, John Svendsen; grandparents, Joe Rediron & Dora Smallboy, Harry Svendsen & Mabel Svendsen; great grandparents, Charlie and Virginia Rediron, Joseph Smallboy, and Angela Merasty; great-great grandma, Josette Apitchek; aunts and uncles, Norman, Larry, Allan, Leonard, Charles, Bertha & infant Richard; sister-in-law, Olivia Bear.

Wake Service will be held Wednesday, April 23, 2025, Nordale Community Hall, 1306 – 6 Ave NW, Prince Albert, SK from 11:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at St. Michaels Parish, 1505 13th St. West, Prince Albert, SK.
