John Gideon Cook was born on April 21, 1943, in Sucker Narrows, SK, and passed away on April 20, 2025, in Little Red River Reserve, SK, at the age of 81 years.

John is survived by his loving family, his children, Edward Cook, Elsie (Maurice) Daniels, Laurie (Rodney) Lindskog, D. Brian Cook, Durwin Cook, Solomon (Jennifer) Cook, Heath Cook, Trevor Cook, Lyle Cook, Ernest Cook, Carol Cook, Amanda (Eric) Bird, Tyson Mason-Bird (Christine), Troy Bird, Becky Bird; his godson, John Halkett; His special granddaughter, Tracey (Jonas) Halkett-Ermine; his siblings, Daniel (Grace) Cook, Sarah (Wendell) Brown, Mary (Dieter) Semmier, Carrie Cook; his in-laws, John Jeho McKenzie, Sebastian Crespo Martin, Theresa (Cook) Morin; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, and special friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, Solomon & Alice (née McLeod) Cook; his wife, Charlotte (née Settee) Cook; his son, Randy Cook; his siblings, Jean B. McKenzie, Grace (Ray) Despins, Betsy Cook, William “James” Cook, Charlie (Miriam) Cook; his in-laws Larry, Sidley, Nathan, Wilfred Settee,Fanny Robertson, Mary Halkett, Elsie McKenzie; his mother-in-law, Granny Rosie Settee.

The Wake Services for John will be held at 7:00 p.m., on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, and 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at the White Hall, in Little Red River Reserve, SK. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, April 25, 2025, at the Little Red River School Gym, in Little Red River Reserve, SK, with Bishop Adam Halkett officiating. The scattering of John’s cremated remains will take place in Sucker Narrows, Wapāsihk, SK, in June of 2025.
