Vivian Grace Weir
September 5, 1935 – April 5, 2025
It is with great sadness that the family of Vivian Grace Weir announce her passing on April 5th, 2025.
Vivian was born in McDowall, SK in 1935. She moved with her family to many towns as her father worked for the railway. Vivian moved to Henribourg and found the love of her life, Harvey Weir. They were married in 1955. They raised their three children on the farm where she resided for her entire life. They were married for 67 years before the passing of Harvey.
The farm kept Vivian busy with gardening, preserving, sewing, her obsession of hunting moles and everything else that a farm wife was to do. Her family, friends, and neighbours were priority. There wasn’t much that slowed her down.
Vivian is survived by her son Alan (Wendy) Weir and their children, Christopher (Jackie) Weir, Kimberly (Jordan) Peterson, Bradly (Kaitlin) Weir, and Sarah (Tanner) Weir; daughter Lorna (Dennis) Betts and children Jennifer (Greg) Lazar, Dillan (Alana) Betts, and Jamie Betts; daughter Sharon (Mike) Ginka; and daughter Kylie (Mark) Maaskant; her thirteen greatgrandchildren Audrey, Lucas, Terrance, Kaylee, Graeme, Mattheus, Eliza, Jonathan, Kohen, Clover, Violet, Brooklyn and Hayden.
Vivian was predeceased by her husband, Harvey; parents, Francis and Robert Bannerman; siblings Harold “Bud” Bannerman, Robert Bannerman, Roy and Tina Bannerman, Shirley and Art Mackie, Ed Bannerman, and Vern Bannerman; and grandchild Kelly Ginka.
The family would like to thank Parkland Ambulance Service, Dr. Benjamin and ER staff of Prince Albert Victoria Hospital, Dr. Katuika and Dr. McFadder, the nursing staff and social worker staff in Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon. All these health professions showed great compassion and care for our mother.
A graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Vivian may be made to Stars Air Ambulance (https://stars.ca/)
Family and friends may leave online condolences at: https://grays.ca
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Gray’s Funeral Chapel, (306) 922-4729, Mary MacWilliams, Funeral Director.
