Arvid Klev
February 10, 1933 – March 29, 2025
With great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, surrounded by family at the Rose Garden Hospice after a stay at the Victoria Hospital, at 92 years of age.
Arvid leaves to mourn his loving wife, Shelley (née Forsyth); his daughter, Lynn; his daughter-in-law, Debbie; and grandsons, Eric and Andrew; his sister-in-law, Joan Leland; and nephew, Larry Leland. He was predeceased by his parents, Ted and Ida; his son, Peter; and his brother-in-law, Donald Leland.
Arvid and Shelley were married for 68 years and made their home in Prince Albert.
Arvid started his working career with CNR. In 1954 he opened Klev’s Grocery where neighbourhood kids enjoyed spending their allowances on penny candy. In 1968 he became the owner and operator of Crosstown Sales, selling farm machinery and vehicles. From 1985 until his retirement in 2003 he focused on automobile sales.
Arvid and family enjoyed time at Christopher Lake and Waskesiu until building a cabin at Candle Lake. Their family enjoyed summers and Christmas seasons for many wonderful years.
In retirement Arvid took up curling, remained interested in cars and met up with friends for afternoon chats.
Arvid and his family are forever indebted to our dear friend Sandy Spademan for his selfless help during Arvid’s time in hospital. Special thanks to the staff of the 4th and 5th floor Victoria Hospital, and Rose Garden Hospice.
In lieu of tributes, donations may be made to the Rose Garden Hospice, 500 38th Street West, Prince Albert, SK, S6V 0A3.
A graveside service with family and friends will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be left at https://www.arbormemorial.ca/en/riverpark/obituaries/arvid-klev/139615.html .
