Helen Bassingthwaighte (nee Hegland),  late of Prince Albert, SK  passed away on Thursday March 13, 2025 at the age of 81 years.

Helen is survived by her children Carolyn (Bob) Hesterman, Jason Bassingthwaighte, Leroy (Bonnie) Bassingthwaighte, her grandchildren Megan, Sarah, Samantha, Michael, Torin, Tegan, Ashton and JC; her great-grandchildren Alejandro and Talia;  sister Lila (Don) Walls, sister-in-law Iris (Terry) Hegland.

She was predeceased by her parents Hazel (nee Anderson) and Jacob Hegland; her husband Dale Bassingthwaighte; her brother Terry Hegland and grandson Seth Noble.

Helen was born in Birch Hills, SK July 9th, 1943. Raised in the Winton area.  Helen was a devout Christian who loved visiting with friends and family. Helen was a member of the blind bowling team in Prince Albert and enjoyed her weekly bowling outings and participating in the yearly provincial tournament put on by the SBSA/CNIB.  Helen resided at the Nelson Care Home in Prince Albert where she passed away peacefully in her sleep. Helen’s family loved and will miss her deeply.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday March 19th 2025 at 1:00 p.m. Prince Albert Bridge Ministry at 717 MacArthur Drive Prince Albert ,SK  Interment will follow at Winton Cemetery.  For those unable to attend the service a live stream link will be provided at https://youtube.com/@princealbertbridgeministry4787?feature=shared.
