Raymond Langford
1965 ~ 2025
Ray passed away peacefully at the Rose Garden Hospice, in Prince Albert, SK, surrounded by family and friends. His suffering has finally ended.
Raymond James Langford was born on December 11, 1965, and passed away February 27, 2025, at the age of 59 years.
Ray was born and raised north of Prince Albert, and did live in Saskatoon for a number of years before moving back to Prince Albert where he remained.
Ray and Giselle met 28 years ago, and not long after that bought a house together and got married. Ray became a family man with two sons and a cat. Having a family was wonderful, but living with a house cat was hard at first. However; in no time at all he was petting the cats, and having naps with them on the couch. During the last 8 months of Ray’s struggle with cancer, he spent a lot of time in bed and the cat, Jazz, seldom left his side. Jazz is still looking around the house for him. Ray always said two children were enough for him and he would have grandchildren to spoil. Last year he got his wish and had a beautiful granddaughter.
They spent many weekends camping and fishing as the boys grew up and made some wonderful memories at Sturgeon Lake often with their grandparents. Sundays were a special time as the families spent supper together at the Langford farm.
Two of his greatest passions were resorting vintage cars and of course fishing. Ray got more involved in restoring his vintage cars as time passed. He would strip it down to the wires and rebuild it. He would spend hours and hours in his garage and if you wanted to visit with him that’s where you would find him. Ray went on annual fishing trip with some of the guys he worked with at Thorpe Brothers and he had a great time every year. Ray was very close to his nephew Mike. He spent a lot of time with Mike, Tammy, Hudson and Tucker as the boys were growing. They also had a special fishing trip each year. Ray was just as proud when his nieces had their girls and love to spend time with them.
His work life at Thorpe Brothers, can’t really be call his job as it was a large part of his life and an extended family for him in so many ways. He worked there most of his adult life and the Thorpe family treated him very well. Ray had great friends among his co-workers and had so many memories of time spent with them. Even after his cancer diagnosis he would still go for coffee with the guys when he was up to it. There were so many people he was close to over years of working in that industry, he will be missed.
Ray was so fortunate to have so many people call him friend. He had a full life of friends and family that loved him and will be greatly missed.
Ray will be lovingly remembered by his spouse, Giselle Audit; children, Mitchell & Arlene (Roux), and Cody; parents, George & Ruth Langford; parents-in-law, Mae & Roland Audit; sister, Rhonda (Terry) Roach; nephew and nieces, Mike & Tammy (Zoey, Hudson, Tucker), Michelle & Korey (Jade, Jessica), Chelsey & Danny (Evelyn, Eastyn). His many aunts, uncles, cousins, lifelong friends, and coworkers.
He was predeceased by his grandparents, George & Jenny Langford, Sid & Eva Morash; brother-in-law, Rick Audit.
In keeping with Ray’s wishes, no funeral service will be held. Special thank you to the Saskatoon Cancer Centre, Homecare staff, Rose Garden Hospice staff and doctors for their compassion and care.
