Inmate escapes from Willow Cree

Corrections Canada is looking to locate a man who escaped the Willow Cree Healing Lodge at Beardy’s and Okemasis Cree Nation.

Leroy Daniels was on an escorted temporary absence in Saskatoon when he went on the lam.

In 2021, Daniels was sentenced to 6.5 years in jail by a Provincial Court Judge in Prince Albert for his role in some armed robberies in 2020.

Daniels threatened to shoot the employee at a northside liquor store during the robbery.

In the second incident several months after that, he once again threatened to shoot the owner of a truck he was stealing in the RM of Buckland.
