Obituary of Milton Mervin Bartos, 1946-2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Milton Mervin Bartos, age 78, of Leask, SK, on Feb. 13, 2025.
A Celebration of Mervin’s life will be held at St. Henry’s R.C. Church on Feb. 25, 2025, at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Lorne Valuck of Parkside Pentecostal Church officiating.
Mervin was born in 1946 to Samuel & Angeline Bartos. His education began first at the Moulin country schoolhouse and then at the new high school in Leask, where he graduated Grade 12 at age 16.
He loved the land and took over the farm west of Leask that had been established by his father, residing there all of his life. In 1973 he married the love of his life, Ruth, and they carefully built a loving home for their four kids. Mervin had many interests within agriculture and a keen enjoyment of music, raising various livestock, and mechanical work. He was involved for many years with the Pentecostal churches in Leask and Parkside, and he was known by many for his kind manner as well as his love for the Lord Jesus Christ.
Mervin will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Larissa (Isaac) Bueckert; son Jan (Jamie) Bartos and children Carson, Jada & Kira; son Alan (Brenda) Bartos and children Olivia, Asher & Eden; and son Andrew (Sarah) Bartos and children Ryder, Nathan & Sawyer; sister Joyce (Al) Pitzel, and his nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by and now reunited with his wife, Ruth (nee: Giesbrecht); his parents, and sisters Margaret and Evelyn.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the teams from Hafford Home Care and the Shellbrook Hospital and Primary Health Care Clinic. Special thanks goes to Kyle Fries, the Richard Robin family, and the many friends and colleagues from the communities of Leask, Muskeg Lake, Mistawasis, Parkside, Shellbrook, Marcelin and surrounding areas who showed such remarkable care and respect toward our father throughout his life.
We know he was a very special man and we look forward to seeing him again. All glory be to God.
